NATIVITY 'Andrea Della Robbia Basilica, Temple on the right. Donated by the Brizzi family of Pieve St.Stefano. Dimensions: height m 2.20; width m. 1.70. E 'consists of 95 pieces. In the bottom left, is Jesus lying on straw in front of him the Virgin kneeling in adoration. Eight angels, in groups of two, are placed right and left. Two of them hold a tape on which we read: "Gloria in Excelsis Deo." Above the Eternal Father, surrounded by six cherubs' heads, between Him and the Son, the Holy Spirit. Other five Cherubs adorn the upper frame, on the base we reads: "Verbum Caro Factum Est de Virgine Maria". |
